Money Market Accounts
(Interest bearing checking accounts)

A money market account is a type of savings account offered by The Iron County Community Credit Union that is similar to a regular savings account. The difference is that money markets pay higher interest, have higher minimum balance requirements and only allow six withdrawals per month. The minimum amount you may withdraw is $500.00 per withdrawal. Another difference is that, similar to a checking account, our money market accounts will allow you write up to three checks each month.

A minimum daily balance of $2,500.00 is required to avoid a maintenance fee of $10.00. If, during any month, your account balance falls below the required minimum daily balance, the fee will be charged to your account.

Boost Your Savings with an IRA

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are great tax-favored ways to save for retirement. With an IRA, earnings grow tax free and are also tax free when you make qualified withdrawals; your earnings grow tax deferred, so you won’t owe income taxes until you make withdrawals. And if you’re eligible, your contributions are tax deductible.

How do you decide whether an IRA is right for you?
The answer to this question really depends on what type of contribution you’re eligible for and your specific financial situation. Our IRA representatives will help you determine if you’re eligible and then help you evaluate which type is best for you. They will help you learn about IRAs, their tax advantages, contribution limits, and withdrawal rules.
